| dc.description.sponsorship | The professional needs of medical students, who are increasingly enrolling at universities in the Republic of Serbia, have led to heightened interest in Serbian as a foreign language for the medical field. Drawing on a specialized medical glossary, this paper identifies terms related to wounds and injuries of a physical nature, as well as those that are (in)visible – wounds to the soul. The goal is to excerpt, define, and analyze the factors that create scars on the body and/or soul in a medical context, addressing the needs of future physicians from abroad studying and working in Serbia. Formulating such a mini-glossary aims to facilitate memorization for advanced-level language learners and to highlight the lexical potential of these lexemes in both professional and everyday settings, thereby helping students recognize parallels and usage patterns more easily. In addition to standard reference works, assistance from artificial intelligence was enlisted in compiling the mini-glossary. | en_US |
