Persons with disabilities encounter certain obstacles in the educational process, especially in higher education. For example, teaching and examination literature at most higher education institutions is not accessible to blind and visually impaired people, who are unable to read written works in the form in which they are most commonly published. Therefore, these persons are forced to acquire adapted literature themselves, and this process is time-consuming and tiring. The lack of textbooks in accessible formats is the main problem faced by blind and visually impaired students. In order to enable them to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed right to education, written works must be adapted to the needs of these persons. In the paper, the author points out the ethical and legal obligations of educational institutions to respect and support the rights of persons who have difficulties reading literature due to disabilities. In addition, the author points out obstacles in copyright in the process of inclusion of persons with disabilities and the necessity of harmonizing the Serbian Law on Copyright and Related Rights with the Marrakesh Treaty.en_US
