INTERDISCIPLINARNE PERSPEKTIVE „MOLITVE TOTU ZA VEŠTINU U PISANJU“

Abstract

This article presents an analysis of interdisciplinary perspectives in the Prayer to Thoth for Skill in Writing — combining the rational principles of scribe craft with (irrational) poetic inspiration within the context of religious devotion. Within this framework, the teachings of Thoth, the god of wisdom, in the esoteric circle of initiates, simultaneously represent a shared mission for the readers of the texts and their connection across epochs, as well as individual enlightenment in the comprehension of the cosmic mind. The Prayer to Thoth for Skill in Writing attests to the primary significance of the written word as the pinnacle achievement of the Egyptian civilization: the cult of Thoth in fact represents a multidisciplinary system of sciences and arts, in which, through communication, consensus, and the accumulation of interdisciplinary perspectives, diffuse esoteric networks are created within the labyrinths of signs.
