APOLOGIJA PESNIČKOG DEVIČANSTVA: MARIJANSKI IMPULS DISOVOG MOTIVA ’OČI IZVAN SVAKOG ZLA’

Abstract

Although the female figure around which Vladislav Petković Dis’ poem “Možda spava” is centered is not the Virgin Mary, in Dis’s motif complex of the dead darling, presented in the given poem, certain Marian aspects of the observed female entity can still be discussed. Therefore, in this paper, Dis’s motif of ‘eyes beyond all evil’ is examined, in which, on the one hand, an architextual source in the poem “Bogorodici krasnih očiju” by Gavrilo Stefanović Venclović is found in the history of Serbian literary Mariology, while, on the other hand, the ontological, aesthetic, and ethical closeness of the Virgin Mary and Dis’s dead darling is examined, a closeness constituted precisely in the spaces ‘beyond all evil’.
