Abstract

In the professional staff hierarchy performing expert activities in sport, sports coaches are on the number one place forming basic professional staff. Sports coaches play central role in contemporary sports concerning development of every sports branch and their skills are of special importance for all participants in the system of sport. According to the Law on Sport of the Republic of Serbia (2016) sports organisations must have sports coaches engaged in their activities and a coach should provide services to the other participants in the system of sport doing expert coaching work if certain conditions are met under professional and inspection supervision. In his paper, the author deals with legislative solutions on the condition referring to: obligation of the organisation in the area of sport to engage a coach, sports coaching position, working license, professional education, health ability, mandatory insurance, categorisation, prohibition of discrimination and taking part in doping.
