Abstract: Three children choir songs, Two Bunnies, Two First-Grade Pupils, Mishap and Mile and a Crocodile by Vojin Komadina have been analysed with the aim to discern the presence of this genre in the primary school textbooks of the subject Music Culture for the younger classes of primary schools. The compositions have been observed through two perspectives: the theoretical-analytical approach and the methodical-pedagogical. By using the analytical approach, it is confirmed that there is only one composition in the textbook literature (Mishap) and that the harmony language, which Vojin Komadina uses in the analysed compositions, is close to children’s musical perception of the early school age. By the striking textual-melody constuction, the composer completely succeeds in intensifying the children’s musical experience, encouraging their imagination and the level of their cognitive abilities. The implications for the teaching practice point to the fact that the mentioned compositions should be more positioned in the textbooks of the subject Music Culture for the younger classes of primary school in the Republic of Serbia.
