Title: Status istraživanja komunikacione kompetentnosti nastavnika u proteklih deset godina

Abstract: The complexity of new teachers’ roles during their continuous professional development requires equally developed communication skills. The paper presents a short theoretical framework of the development of teachersʼ communication competences, and its primary aim was the selection and analysis of papers in the field of the development of teachersʼ communication competence within the past decade, usingprimarily samples in higher education. To this end, content analysis was carried out. The results show great heterogeneity and diversity in terms of approaches to studying and improving the communication competence of teachers and future teachers. There is a need for a more precise definition of these competences in order to emphasize the importance of communication in higher education teaching.
