Abstract: Due to the significant environmental pollution problems encountered in today's world, this chapter focuses on the use of citrus peel waste from the agro-industry as an alternative wastewater treatment. Biosorption based on citrus fruit waste from the agro-industry is a cheap and green technology used as a good alternative in the remediation and purification of water, to remove inorganic and organic pollutants. This chapter considers the possibility of using citrus fruit waste and its modification into activated carbon (AC) to improve the physicochemical characteristics of sorbents and improve sorption capacity in the process of water purification. Analyzed AC results obtained from citrus fruit waste showed that AC is an appropriate sorbent for removing pollutants from water. The use of carbon from citrus fruit waste as an electrode material exhibited lower production costs and high stability under different operating conditions. AC regeneration using citrus peel has also been a significant step in wastewater treatment.
