| Abstract: | The chance for the development of Serbian hotel industry and tourism in general should be sought in the investment of real estate investment trusts specialized for investing in hotels. Regarding this, the objective of this paper is acquainting investment public in Serbia with the basic characteristics of real estate investment trusts and the importance of real estate investment trusts specialized for investing in hotels. The development of the hotel sector of Serbia will be accelerated and significant contribution to increasing the capacity of domestic hotel in the future can be provided by the establishment of these funds. Therefore, the way of Serbian hotel sector development should be focused on attracting funds of foreign hotel real estate investment trusts and the establishment of national hotel real estate investment trusts. |
