The power transfer is an irreplaceable partof every industry. Due to technology improvement, the mechanisms are working with less and lesslosses, but their constructions are becoming morecomplex. This essay is dedicated to the planetarygear sets, with a focus on the Ravigneaux planetarygear set which represents, in fact, improved versionof Simpson’s planetary gear set. The detailedkinematic analysis of the gear set will be explainedin a form of the calculation of the number ofrevolutions for every gear set, independently to theaxis around which they revolve.en_US
