Today diesel automobile engines with fuel direct injection, are up to 30% more economical when compared with gasoline engines from the same class. With this reason, as it is actual practice in Europe, diesel engines are good solutions for lower fuel consumption and CO2 emission. However, a remaining problem dominating diesel engines is the reduction of NOx and particle emissions. The main objective or goal is to reduce the toxic exhaust emission from the diesel engine during the combustion process. Therefore, this study was started with research on his working process with variable compression ratio. In diesel engines, variable compression ratio improves cold start-ability, light load operation, enabling of multi-fuel capability, increase fuel economy and a reduction of emission. This paper describes results both, theoretical and laboratory research of the impact automatic variable compression ratio has on working process parameters in experimental diesel engine.en_US
