dc.description.abstractThe goal of this paper is to show the application of topology optimization for reducing the weight of different types of construction, especially freight wagons. In the first part of this paper a short introduction on optimization techniques is given and characteristics of analyzed model are discussed. In the second section process and results of topology optimization applied on freight, four-axle bogie wagon are given. Final part of the paper includes discussion about achieved results and comments about usefulness of topology optimization.en_US
