Kategorija povoda u nekim jezčkim stilovima 19. veka

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the methodological issues regarding the development of the category of cause in the Serbian language. The method of semantic field has been combined with syntactic analysis. Also, we have used the methods of historical syntax. The corpora contain scientific, administrative and newspaper texts ranging from the 1830s to the end of the 19th century. The paper is divided into three parts: (a) analysis of the centre of the semantic field (represented by the word povodom), (b) analysis of the periphery of the field and its interaction with other categories, (c) analysis of the relation between different categories in administrative texts.
