Abstract: In this paper we have presented research papers and experiments which deal with theoretic and empirical studies and application of the Flipped Classroom method (Bergmann and Sams 2012, Fallows 2013, McCue 2014, Graham 2013, Thoms 2012, etc.). While examining each of the given studies, we have highlighted the subject and goals of each study and elaborated how the research contributed to the general understanding of the principles behind this method and its implementation in different scientific fields. As a starting point we used the book Flip Your Classroom by Bergmann and Sams, for these two authors are considered to be the founders of this method. Every other research has been correlated with this book, whereby we have emphasized either the differences that one specific study has made or showcased in what direction the author(s) developed the initial theses. The final section of this paper illustrates the significance that the international researches have for future researches in Serbia, given the fact that this topic is yet to be studied on a grander scale.
