Title: Jedna onomastička napomena uz povelje kneza Lazara i despota Đurđa (Prilog etimologiji stsrp. proeponima Dekindić)
Authors: Polomac, Vladimir
Issue Date: 2009
Abstract: The paper analyses the etymology of the Old Serbian proeponym Dekindić, registered two times in the charter of Patriarch Spyridon to Lord Obrad Dekindić which was issued on 9th January 1338. Based on the semantic parallel in the Romanian language – name Decindeşti, from the toponym Decindea and Romanian suffix -eşti, in the paper an assumption is made that the Old Serbian proeponym was phonetically and morphologically adapted in Old Serbian as Dekindić. Roman etymology confirms that there was linguistic and ethnic transfer between Roman and Slavic people in the district of Brvenik in the mediaeval period.
