Abstract: The protection of consumers of insurance services is the goal of the regulatory and supervisory rules of the European Union. The Insurance Distribution Directive (hereinafter IDD) represents the last regulatory step aimed at creating an efficient single insurance market. The author researched those key solutions of the Insurance Distribution Directive, which were adopted in order to increase the level of protection of consumers of insurance services. The subject of the research consists in the answer to disputed questions related to the provisions of the Directive 2016/97 on insurance distribution (IDD), in order to put a light on significant segments of consumer protection of insurance services. In the following text, having in mind the complexity of the topic and the limited scope of the work, a review will be made of the main qualitative and substantive changes in this matter.
