Title: Mačka i pesnička tačka

Issue Date: 2021
Abstract: Balancing between the role of constant figure and poetic mark in modern Serbian poetry and the fact that the creature called cat represents a new kind of dualism in modern lyrics, avantguarde and (neo)symbolistic tones merged with cats are extremely wide. First of all, modern poems all the way from Baudelaire as the prime author whose love for cats and new comprehension of symbol inspired many modern poetic writers, triggered something that binds them all. Dispite the diversity of poetic belief, Charles Boudelaire, Jovan Dučić, Oskar Davičo, Jovan Hristić, Branislav Petrović, Borislav Radović, and Dragan Bošković among other modern poets proved that the links between the world they see and the world they are in is not that different. Cat as symbol, motif, reference and semiotic proof of poetry in presence is always at the and of a poetic picture or thought. If it is not, than this meaningful animal represents a distinction, a cut that derives a new beginning and poetic movements.
