O ADROGACIJI (ADROGATIO) KAO PRVOM OBLIKU USVOJENjA

Abstract

In ancient Rome, the lack of children led to decline of the family in the spiritual and material sense. In an effort to reduce such consequences to the smallest possible extent, the Romans very early created the institution of adrogation (adrogatio), which represented the adoption of a person sui iuris who thus comes under paternal power of the adopter. Bearing in mind the constant changes in socio-economic life, the paper will focus on the consequences of adrogation, its forms, as well as the conditions that were necessary for someone to adopt or be adopted.
