Since 2019 the application of European technical norms of Eurocodes has been mandatory. The issue of energy efficiency of buildings, with the aim of saving energy, is more topical than ever. As for masonry structures, there is a large choice of different masonry materials on the market. By choosing the proper material, we influence both the load bearing capacity and energy efficiency of the wall. The aim of the paper is to show the method of calculating load-bearing capacity of the wall, which is connected to the slab floor of reinforced concrete at the top and bottom and is not laterally supported, depending on the chosen masonry material and binder, all according to Eurocode 6., as well as the calculation of the heat transfer coefficient, according to the policy on energy efficiency of buildings.en_US
