The optimization of the cutting parameters and the tool path has attracted the attention of a large number of researchers in the past two decades. Cutting parameters and the tool path have a great influence on the production time and the quality of the machined surface, and therefore on the production costs. Optimization of cutting parameters and tool path are still the main directions of research in the field of machining process optimization. However, in the majority of research, the optimization of cutting parameters and tool path is done independently and their mutual influence is ignored. This paper discusses the possibility of integrated optimization of tool path and cutting parameters on the example of rough contour milling using genetic algorithm.en_US
