Abstract

In this paper, we examine the angelological panorama of Serbian poetry with a special focus on the developed complex of different angelological figures (about 120), which we attach in the form of a catalog. Following the discourse of literary angelology, we point out the general principles of taking angelological representations from religious and theological conceptions, as well as the measure of the distance of literary processing in relation to dogmatic ones, with special reference to the formation of autochthonous angelic representations characteristic of Serbian poetry. The new angelological figures range from the modification of already existing figures, the Christian ones, to the creation of completely new, poetic figures. This in turn leads to the emergence of different motivic angelological topics, new areas and meanings of angelic activities, as well as new angelological onomastics.
