Authors: Selaković, Irena
Issue Date: 2023
Abstract: In this paper, we examine the importance of self-recording as an innovative technique in Spanish as a foreign language class used to suppress students’ fear during presentations or oral exams. The hypothesis is that self-recording, like speaking in front of a mirror, has a positive effect on students’ self-confidence and relieves them of the anxiety they have when speaking in Spanish. The research included students from the Faculty of Philology and Arts who were enrolled in Spanish as a foreign language class. After the investigation a survey was carried out. According to the research data we can confirm that self-recording had a positive effect on the self-confidence of the majority of the students and helped them to suppress the fear and anxiety they had when speaking in Spanish, especially during oral exams.
