Control of GMA welding process is based on the principle of the self regulation of welding arc length. Constant arc length is maintained by variations in wire melting rate. This article analyzes the effect of welding parameters such as welding current, arc voltage and wire feed speed on wire temperature field. A model of heat exchange in wire is developed based on the energy conservation laws. Developed model was adapted for computer simulation using appropriate numerical methods.en_US
