It is well known that in the last decade the issue of environmental protection and preservation has gained extreme importance in many aspects; one of them, which is definetly important, is the introduction of the new, so called "green" technologies in metal forming. Such technologies imply a different approach in solving tribological problems in forming (effective forming, high quality of piece surface, tool life prolongation etc.). To that purpose, in addition to the development of procedures for applying coatings, dry films and similar, particular attention is given to the development of new lubricants, which do not contaminate the environment whem they are removed, and are as efficient as traditional lubricants. The paper presents the summary of researches in this area with recommendations for application of ecological lubricants ("Friendly lubricants") in particular procedures of metal formingen_US
