Abstract: Biomedically assisted fertilization services are becoming increasingly important in the 21st century, given the growing number of couples struggling with some form of infertility that makes it impossible to conceive naturally. The author's considerations therefore focus on married and unmarried partners as users of biomedically assisted fertilization services. In this paper, the author first discusses the concept and types of biomedical insemination, as well as the causes of infertility among married and unmarried partners. The central part of the paper is devoted to analyzing the conditions under which these couples can be users of the said services under the 2017 Act on Biomedically Assisted Fertilization and thus assessing their eligibility. In addition, the importance of the consent and withdrawal of consent of these couples in the process of assisted reproduction was also examined. In the concluding part, the author sums up the obtained results and points out the advantages and disadvantages of the current legal solutions to this issue.
