dc.description.abstract | The complex [Ru-p-cymene-L], where L = 4-chloro-2-[[(2-hydroxyphenyl)imino] methyl]phenol, was synthesized according to a previously published procedure used for the synthesis of similar complexes [1]. The starting complex [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2 (0.3062 g; 0.5 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (6 mL) and the solid ligand (0.2465 g; 1 mmol) was added to this solution. The resulting mixture was refluxed at 60 °C for 3 hours. The solution was left in the refrigerator overnight, then vacuum filtered and the precipitate dried. The precipitate was recrystallized from DMF and orange crystals of the complex [Ru-p-cymene-L] were obtained (Figure 1).
