Abstract: | In this paper, the influence of the orientation angle of high-modulus carbon fibers on the dynamic stability of a laminated composite drive shaft for a Nissan SUV model was analysed using the Finite Element Method (FEM). The analysis results show that by changing the orientation angle of the carbon fibers from 0° to 90°, the natural frequency values decrease by up to 73.2%. The analysis also indicated that the fiber orientation angle in the laminate layers significantly affects the buckling strength. The impact of different layer configurations with fiber orientations of 0° and 90° on the natural frequency values and the critical buckling torque of the shaft was also analysed, and the best configuration was proposed. |
