This paper was realized within the framework of the project “The research of vehicle safety as part of a cybernetic system: Driver-Vehicle-Environment”, ref. no. TR35041, funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.en_US
In order to have, insight in temperature field - temperatures that have appeared in the braking system, during the braking process, it is necessary to develop the test rig. This is not the only reason for the test rig development, but also the test rig should be developed in order to put the new product on the market, and to test its properties during the braking process, in real exploitation conditions. The test rig can provide the simulation of different exploitation conditions. Besides thermal stresses, also can be followed the value of particles emission from the braking system, as well as the noise generated during the braking process. By application of such an approach, the behaviour of elements can be observed, when the elements are new, after several working cycles, when are damaged, as well as and when elements are exposed to different atmospheric conditions. The aim of the paper is to show the development of the test rig for the disc brakes testing, on the Faculty of Engineering, Department for motor vehicles and motors. The tests will be possible for different vehicle categories.en_US
