dc.description.abstractIn the era of digitization, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face significant challenges due to the obsolescence of production equipment that cannot meet modern business requirements. Enterprises engaged in mechanical processing of metal, wood and other materials are characterized by a significant share of older generation equipment, which is considered to be unusable from the aspect of modern trends in the field of production. The aim of this paper is to consider the possibility of modernizing the existing production equipment of the older generation, with special emphasis on CNC machines, by means of examples from practice. Modernization of production equipment of the older generation as a financially profitable solution achieves numerous advantages in the form of extending the working life of machines, significantly improving performance, maintaining competitiveness on the market, etc.en_US
