This review paper looks at the dynamic balance between the pedosphere and the Earth's atmosphere regarding the intensity of the emission of nitrogen oxides and molecular nitrogen and their uptake by the biosphere. Maintaining this balance is important for minimizing the consequences of excessive N2O emission (desertification, greenhouse effect), on the one hand, and encouraging nitrogen fixation processes, on the other hand, which protects the soil from degradation.en_US
