This study represents a preliminary investigation of the mechanical and friction properties of hypereutectic Al-18Si alloy. Tribological experiments, under the linear reciprocating movement, show a decrease in the coefficient of friction with the increase of normal load. These findings provide valuable insights into the behaviour of the coefficient of friction and represent a starting point for further investigation and application of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys.en_US
