Abstract: In this work we are analyzing astropoetic evolution of modern serbian poetry, begining with romanticism, with poetry of Branko Radičević, Laza Kostić and Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, towards modernism and the first signs of a new astropoetics (in Milan Rakić’s poetry). Keeping in mind that this theme is too diffuse and impossible to reach in its totality, poetry and poets that have been chosen are selected not only by epochal criteria and criteria of history of literature, but also by the personal affinities, so hermeneutical approach in this text has all the deficiencies which are typical in astropoetics, and it means that the cosmic space in all its vastness and every star-sign in it couldnt be either seen, or poetically reached or interpreted except in a partial way. Forced to choose our hermeneutical prirorities we chose those phenomenons which are dominant in astropoetics of romanticism and early modernism: phenomenons of glance, time, trace, cosmic distances and depths, of metaphorization, alegorisation and poetic reflection of stars as literary symbols.
