Abstract: In Stojiljković’s novel The star above the void, three dominant stylistic processes are identified: 1) various forms of repetition, 2) distribution, and 3) gradation. Among the employed repetitions, anaphora is the most prevalent, frequently combined with other rhetorical devices such as polysyndeton and epanalepsis. These repetitions manifest not only at the micro level of individual sentences but also at the macro level, functioning as cohesive elements throughout the text. Distribution emerges as the primary principle governing the structure of sentences and larger textual units. This paper examines distribution as a stylistic figure from a grammatical perspective, thereby contributing to its theoretical relevance. The most frequent type of gradation in this novel is lexical gradation, combined with syntactical gradation. Gradation is primarily observed in the organization of dialogue, transcending the boundaries of individual sentences to establish itself as a compositional principle that influences larger textual units.
