Abstract: In this paper linguistic-stylistic features of the poetry of Mirjana Bulatović, a renowned contemporary Serbian poet, are identified and analysed by the use of the linguostylistic method. However, the analysis includes only the features that represent stylistic-linguistic dominants (the term “dominant” being used as in Jacobson’s theory). The following stylistic-linguistic dominants of Mirjana Bulatović’s poetry are identified and analysed: а) compositional structure of the poems (particularly couplet and quatrain stanzas, with coupled or alternate rhymes), b) semantic features (especially contrast, which interferes with aphorisms and ambiguity), c) syntactic features (predominance of the dialogic form of communication) and d) the use of children vocabulary units (argotic, idiomatic and neologistic units in particular). The analysis has shown Mirjana Bulatović’s children’s poetry to be of high quality.
