Abstract

In this paper, we deal with the status of dependent clauses introduced by a complex conjunction, as in the administrative-legal style of the fifth decade of the 19th century. We used legislative-legal substyle texts as a corpus. We performed the analysis using syntactic-semantic, functional and historical-linguistic methods. Sentences introduced by a compound conjunction as are more commonly used than in modern legal language. Modal and comparative-modal sentences of this type appear in several models, of which the function of a text connector is particularly pronounced.
