Abstract: The concepts of sustainable development and green criminology represent key areas of contemporary interest in environmental conservation resulting from growing global concerns about the environment and social justice. Sustainable development, through its holistic approach to integrating economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection, has become a comprehensive framework for addressing the complex challenges facing humanity. In parallel, green criminology has emerged as a critical perspective within criminology, dedicated to the study of damage and crimes against the natural environment, including both humans and all other segments of the ecosystem. The paper aims to analyze the complex relationship between sustainable development and green criminology, exploring their definitions, principles, mutual influences, and opportunities for synergistic action. The global focus intensively directed at environmental issues emphasizes the need for an interdisciplinary approach, and understanding the connection between sustainable development and green criminology provides insights that can be useful for creating more effective strategies for environmental protection and promoting social development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
