Abstract: The application of process drama in teaching the Serbian language and literature represents an innovation, and this paper was written with the aim of implementing it as a teaching method. A review and analysis of the literature was conducted to theoretically present the features of process drama (focus on the process, absence of an audience, teacher playing a role, use of drama techniques, episodic structure, etc.), its structure and planning, and to highlight some of the positive effects of its application in teaching. A lack of methodological papers in the field of Serbian language and literature teaching addressing this topic was observed, so a review of literature and accredited professional development programs with content related to drama pedagogy was provided, which could potentially contribute to the implementation of process drama in Serbian language and literature teaching. Furthermore, some methodological possibilities for its implementation were discussed and a model of implementation was outlined. This opens space for further methodological research into the possibilities of applying process drama in Serbian language teaching, which would potentially justify its implementation in practice — that being the main conclusion of the paper.
