Abstract: In this paper, we analyze names, surnames, and hypocoristics collected in Jošanička Banja. Semantic analysis of surnames showed that the most surnames were derived from names, and structural analysis of surnames showed that the most surnames ended with the formant -ić. All collected names were divided into three groups: names of Slavic origin, names of Christian origin, and other names. Among male names of Slavic origin, the most common are Dragan, Dejan, Milan and Miloš, and the most common Slavic female names are Milanka and Mirjana. Also, the most common names of Christian origin are Jovan, Luka, Marko and Marija. Several female names came throught the Russian language: Vanja, Vera, Irena, Irina. Finally, we have provided notes on the semantics of the names. In third part of this paper, we discused male and female hypocoristics. All female hypocoristics end with the formant -a (Mira, Olja, Rada), and the most of male hypocoristics end with the formant -o (Aco, Bobo, Mošo). Since this research shows the diversity of surnames, names, and hypocoristics, the continuation of similar onomastic research of this area is strongly emphasized.
