| Abstract: | Copyright protects personal intellectual creations, i.e. creative achievements in which the author's individuality is expressed in a certain form, for example a musical work, a text, a painting or a film work. Unlike other intellectual property rights, copyright arises automatically with the creation of a work. Registration, such as a patent, is not required. Copyright aims to ensure that the author has comprehensive rights to his work. The author decides whether and how the work will be published, reproduced or modified. Copyright also protects an intellectual creation from unauthorized use or imitation. In practice, more and more questions arise regarding the copyright protection of works of applied art. It is about intellectual creations that have a specific subject of protection. In the paper, the author dealt with certain aspects of copyright protection of works of applied art through foreign judicial practice. |
