The effects of changes in the trophism of the soil ecosystem (SE) as a result of changes in the concentrations of organic and mineral substances in the soil were studied by determining the abundance and activity of the microbial community (MC) in the soil ecosystem. A quantitative assessment of the number of microorganisms was carried out using the qPCR method and the activity of the MC by measuring basal respiration (BR) and substrate-induced respiration (SIR) in soil samples. Soil samples were collected from different sites subjected to experimental eutrophication from 2011 to 2019 by annual addition of organic matter or minerals to the corresponding sites, and then oligotrophication - cessation of all application from 2019 to the present. The methods used to assess the effects of oligotrophication showed the sensitivity of the methods, and the results obtained are clear and suitable for further development of MC management methods.en_US
