This chapter outlines the fundamentals of the ranking based on distance and range (RADAR) method. Developed with the aim of achieving a balance in the ranking of alternatives, between strong performance on the most important criteria and overall consistency across all considered criteria. RADAR introduces a novel perspective to multicriteria decision-making. It is based on the premise that no single multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) method is universally optimal for all decision-making problems. As such, RADAR offers an alternative approach particularly suited for problems in the domains of risk assessment and reliability analysis, but also adaptable to other MADM contexts when appropriate. In addition to numerical examples, the chapter includes a comparative analysis with selected MADM methods and a sensitivity analysis.en_US
