Abstract: In the history of physical education, there are different opinions about the origin of skiing, i.e. about the time when the first tools were used to enable people to move easier and faster on the snow in order to survive, and later as an aspect of physical exercising and competing. From the beginning until nowadays, skiing has experienced huge transformations which have been practiced through different skiing schools, equipment, as well as through different teaching methodologies. The Nordic skiing was invented before the Apine skiing. Hundreds of millions of fans enjoy the beauty of Alpine skiing. The development of tourism in various ski centers around the world has lead to the unification of different skiing techniques, and, accordingly, different teaching methodologies. The goal of this paper was to present the Alpine skiing school and the teaching methods for acquiring its basic elements.
