Title: Advanced Dental Ceramics
Authors: Pantić, Marko
Issue Date: 2021
Abstract: The history review of the development of dental ceramics is presented within this paper, as well as its gradual development flow towards new advanced ceramic materials, whose application in esthetic dentistry can be found nowadays. The special focus is given to materials based on all-ceramic systems (glass ceramics and zirconium), which currently represent the latest materials in today׳s esthetic dentistry. Four groups of commercial materials, produced by Ivoclar Vivadent based on all-ceramic, are presented: leucite - IPS Empress CAD, lithium disilicate - IPS e.max CAD, veneering ceramic - IPS e.max Ceram and zirconium - IPS e.max ZirCAD. A detailed review and description of all mentioned materials, related to their esthetic, chemical, mechanical and structural properties, are presented as well.
