Title: Začarani krug ideološke (re)produkcije: književnost, teorija i manipulacija
Authors: Lojanica, Marija
Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: The paper analyzes the complexity of relations between three, only seemingly disparate systems – reality, theory, and art, with the intent to determine the degree of mutual interference. To put it more precisely, the complex interaction can be described by the term conscious manipulation since the facts belonging to one of the systems are necessarily distorted in order to be successfully integrated into other systems without causing major disturbances within them. Although the mentioned process aims at postulating literary world as an autonomous entity, it results in the inextricable network interrelated elements constituting the reality – meta-reality interplay. As the illustration of afore mentioned process, the paper will offer an analysis of literary and theoretical manipulation to which the anecdote of Brooklyn Bridge construction was subjected to in Paul Auster’s novella “Ghosts”.
