Abstract: This paper represents a certain continuation of a text published last year (Manojlović, 2014) in which the central topic was the linguistic and ideological analysis of song lyrics by Svetlana Ražnatović, as well as the image of a woman in the Serbian society of spectacle (Debor, 2003). In this paper we shall examine the role of mass media – internet articles and interviews to be precise – in the promotion of the identity of this spectacular woman. For the purpose of this paper, the abovementioned media are understood as distinct order of discourse under the entertainment industry discourse (Fairclough, 1996). The aim of the paper is to contrast the texts retrieved from online media with the results gathered by the means of cognitive-linguistic analysis of the song lyrics. Our analysis shows that there is a difference in experiential and relational values of linguistic expressions used within the publicistic order of discourse and song lyrics of the said entertainer. Apart from that we will try to examine what is it that represents the source and driving force of the creation of the spectacular woman in our society.
