Trends in development of passenger cars

Abstract

This paper presents continuation of the research of passenger cars design parameters according to the development trends. In order to analyze the trends in the period between 1980-1996, a research of variation of significant design parameters (wheel base, maximal length, masses, maximal speed, maximal engine power and fuel consumption) has been made. A group of 970-1731 car models of well known producers as well as a group of 49-100 class A models and 266-326 class B car models have been analyzed. Results obtained make it possible to predict the trends of change in analyzed parameters of the class A and the class B cars.
