Abstract: The usage of the compressed natural gas is not new. However, at all examples of use of the compressed natural at vehicles, the port fuel injection is implemented. During the investigation, it was developed the system for the compressed natural gas direct injection, with aim to stratify the mixture and to provide engine work with the globally lean mixture, in order to increase the engine efficiency, by reducing pump loses. During the investigation, it was found that the compression ratio influence significantly on the IC engine working cycle with compressed natural gas. According to this, were identified working parameters of the IC engine with compression ratio 13.3:1 and 10.4:1. It was found, that for the engine and fuel system conception used in the research, better results are obtain with the lower compression ratio
