Abstract: The main purpose of brakes is to slow down, stop or maintain vehicle in steady state. The sound isan integral part of everyday life, which provides us with useful information and warnings. However, the sound may be undesired phenomenon. Noise and vibrations of brake systems in road vehicles are of great importance both for manufactures and for buyers. The high level of noise causes environmental pollution, especially in urban areas, and it is considered that braking noise can be so annoy to drivers and can result with a traffic accident. Air disc brakes unlike drum brakes have more tendencies to generate noise, but this disadvantage does not influence on their application on vehicles and that's why today all the attention is focused on solving the problem of noise reduction, because unlike drum brakes, disc brakes have far more advantages. Due to the relatively short time ofapplication of the air disc brake, the brake structure research is still in the design stage and the relevant technical regulations are not perfect. Thus reducing the different types of brake noise has become an important task for automotive engineering researchers in order to reduce urban noise pollution and improve passenger comfort.
