Abstract: Wearing of the brakes is not only a problem for road safety, but also a problem for environmental safety. The reason is that during braking process, wear particles are formed, which are environmentally unacceptable, but also hazardous for humans and the environment. Such particles are called non-exhaust particulates. For this reason, modern technologies and systems, which are part of the braking system have been developed today to reduce emissions. Some modern technologies that are applicable to vehicles, but can be expected in the future on all types of vehicles are presented in this paper. The technologies explained here definitely in the future can be widely used on tractors to reduce the environmental impact of noncombustion particulates, i.e. non-exhaust particulars. Such technologies are of the great importance, given that tractors are cultivated and that particles generated by brake wear are directly deposited on the soil.
