Abstract: Employees who perform remote work, easily face significant threat to their privacy, primarily due to the presence of various Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which are used during the working procces. While jeopardising privacy can be justified for the sake of efficiency, it often leads to an invasion of employees' personal space. Although remote work offers advantages such as flexibility and time savings, it simultaneously creates conditions where the boundaries between personal and professional life can easily blur. The presence of video surveillance, monitoring of communication, and other time-tracking tools can lead to an unfavorable work environment and violate human rights at work, as employees may become aware that every activity can be monitored, and therefore, affect their creativity and productivity. Given these challenges, it is essential for employers to find a balance between the need for oversight and the respect for employees' privacy, not only to comply with legal obligations but also as an ethical responsibility that contributes to the wellbeing of everyone involved in the work process. In this paper, the author highlights some of the key challenges faced by employees working from home, indicating possible ways to establish a balance between employers' authority and employees' rights to privacy.
